As you probably guessed my name is Glen, I'm a 32 year old Kiwi. I'm an administrator here, as well as a VandalProof moderator and Vandalism Control Network Staff member for the vandalism channels such as #vandalism-en-wp.
In real life I'm the Managing director of diverse companies; From clothing to energy supplements. I just happened to find Wikipedia in late 2005 when a Tom Cruise parody website I designed had this article written about it. My primary activity here on Wiki is the elimination of all vandalism, trolls and cruft. However, I have written several articles, usually related to my fairly wide interest base; Cults fascinate me, and because I am a former bodybuilder and have a 1st Dan black belt in both Tae Kwon Do and Ryu Kyu Kempo Karate I write about all subjects related to fitness, and the martial arts. |

I completely forgot about admin coaching! And somehow it didn't pop up on my watchlist... going there now. Sorry about the delay! riana_dzasta 06:58, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Late Thank You
Thank you for helping solve the matter with Doll Graveyard. It was quite a mess and to me you were always fair and neutral, not to mention helpful. Next time I write a movie article, I may check with to see if it has what it needs to be an article here. :) Continue your good work as admin! -WarthogDemon 09:32, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please protect Sunderland AFC
The article Sunderland AFC has been persistantly vandalised over the past few weeks by multiple Ip's and users. Well over 20 times, I can see this by its history, I request proctection to the article. I' am Sheogarath, a new user to Wikipedia. But a long term skilled user on Wikipedias sister project Wikiversity. The vandalism has contained constant swearing abuse and offense towards the club. Sheogarath 18:55, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for unblocking my bot
Hi, I saw your block and subsequent unblock of my bot User:PockBot - sorry, I didn't realise I had to add a template on the page saying it was under trial, this is my first bot and I'm trying to do everything right but there's a lot of little rules its difficult to pickup at first! Not a problem that you blocked it, my fault for not having the correct template/flag on the page. Just out of interest, how did you come across or notice the bot's activites? Any thoughts on improvements etc are welcome since its still on trial and can be modified prior to final approval. (could you reply on my user talk page rather than here please?) Many Thanks - PocklingtonDan 14:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- It popped up on recent changes in the Vandalism Control Network channel, which isnt usual for a bot as all approved bots are hidden from our feed. So I took a look and thought I better block or you'd be killed by the Bots team :)
- Sorry again, and wont happen again now :) Glen 14:49, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ah OK, thanks. When the trial is over, do you know the correct template to substitute for the "on trial" one? Cheers - PocklingtonDan 14:52, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalising
I apologise for vandalising your propert. Firstly, I have a sister who ruins everything. Secondly I would like to say that I will keep her away from it. This is notfair. i am extremely sorry. I use Wikipedia alot and it is useful. However, this should not be my last warning because I put up some information from my History lesosn today. So this shouldn't have an effect. I am sorry for the damage and troule my sister has brought to you. I will stop this from happening and wil use Wikipedia responsibly.

[edit] CheckUser
Our little friend is reminding me more and more of some old friends from the past -- the word games, the hair-splittings hinging on precisely which definition of a particular word one chooses to regard as "the" meaning, the pretense that his only interest is in seeing that Wikipedia policies are followed... it may be time for that little check-up. -- Antaeus Feldspar 01:57, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- Asking that an article define what is meant by "doctrine" is hardly hair-splitting, because the way it seems to be used in articles like Space opera in Scientology doctrine doesn't match normal use - you know, like the dictionary definition, or Wikipedia's own Doctrine article. Sounds to me like you're trying to find a back-channel way to find a reason to "get rid of" someone who disagrees with you. Gee, just like the Church of Scientology! [edit] Wtf?
I've found something rather distrubing. Posted a comment on the ANi thread about trix. any ideas? yandman 08:43, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I looked thorugh your subpage showing where she and her sock crossed, but I can't help noticing that in every case where they've been on the same page, it was after Wikipediatrix left. In addition, every time they edited on the same days, one is before the other (by this I mean that there's never trix-syrup-trix-pause, it's always trix-syrup-pause or pause-syrup-trix). Moreover, trix seems to have gone, and the other account is editing. Couldn't this just be a roomate/child/husband of hers who's pestering her, logging in to wikipedia on her/their computer and pissing about? Has anyone tried emailing her to ask? yandman 13:27, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not block whole IP ranges next time
Dear Glen,
usually I do not log in to edit in the English Wikipedia. I know about the advantages, but I would like to let you know, that there are many people out there who are doing good edits without logging in. Today I experienced a blocking of my IP. After changing it several times I understood that you were actually blocking an IP-Range that was affecting nearly all German users of one provider that is serving more than 3 mio. users. Now that you know about this I hope you are less strict with blocking such a big IP range in future.
Thank you

[edit] Re: Adminship
Hey, sorry for the extended delay in this reply but certain things can't be helped. As to why it hadn't happened already, I was planning to run at the start of this month. However, due to the events here I'm badly out of touch with wiki (and am really upset that I missed 1 million files rolling up on Commons). As for a admin nomination, I appreciate your offer (and the apparent !vote of confidence on IRC). As I'm just off a 2-week involuntary wikibreak, my mood isn't appropriate to an RfA just now. However, with any luck in a couple of weeks I will be back properly and would be delighted to accept a nom then :)--Nilfanion (talk) 00:49, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Glen
Thanks so much for your message. Your guidance is useful and thanks for contacting me. However I am confused. I'd really like to include links to a useful site for young people, where the content is directed specifically at them. Yep, it is nice, when so many pages are deleted and merged it is impossible to find any specific information, even for admins, so that is the way I do it. For important pages (say, main page article) you can actually do the removal without the article ever bring unavailable, but that does take a lot of work. Think move, save, protect, delete, restore, move, unprotect ;-) Several other users use similar pages, the most prominent that I can think of it User:Freakofnurture/dev/null/. Happy editing! [edit] Re:Somerset
A CheckUser was performed for Sheogarath, and William Shaksphere, Welcomebot, and Professor Somerset were all confirmed as sockpuppets. It's not surprising, since I know Sheogarath has tried to play tricks on me before (he's Molag Bal, but Martin and I decided to give him another shot). Anyway, I'm still discussing this with Martin via email regarding this whole situation. Nishkid64 23:48, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- FYI, Martin pointed out Sheogarath and I verified (he made a personal confession) that he was Molag Bal. I also knew Welcomebot was his bot, and I was considering shutting it down since his previous unregistered bot malfunctioned. Anyway, I blocked them now, but I'm still deciding about Sheogarath. [edit] Re: Geneva Glen Camp Wikipedia
Yes, i did blank the page, but I do not necessairily want it deleted. I was the creator of the page, and I am currently engaged in discussion with the administration of the camp which the page was about regarding its content. When a conclusion is reached in our discussion, I will re-create the framework of the page in a way such that the discussed camp will continue to condone its existance. It is possible that they will request I delete it, and at such time I will post a deletion request. I ask in the mean time that you don't revert the page. Thank you. Chuck Norris' IQ can be expressed simply as a sideways eight. 00:24, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Clarification
Concerning my Usertalk page. Could you please inform me of what information was cause for trolling and a personal attack? I took information from the blog in question. I used that information to refute a number of personal attacks that were made on me. While I plan to abide by your decision, I would appreciate if you would explain to me what the problem was so that I might understand your position better. And the truth shall set you free! 03:08, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I want to clarify on what was going on here. Mheckman1978 is a member of the berks blog network which the content that Berksguy was using against Matt Heckman was in direct violation of our copyright laws. Berksguy in no way shape or form has gained permission to use our sites content on his user talk page or any other page. We have provided information to other articles in the past for educational purposes, and what Berksguy did with our content was not for "educational" purposes. I will admit that Mheckman1978 may have gone over the top, but was justified in removing copyright protected content. Furthermore Berksguy was also the one that started this affair that caused things to blow out of control as shown in the history trail in both the discussion and usertalk pages. For that I request that Berksguy is equally banned for the same thing Mheckman1978 was.

Hi Glen, You probably don't know me (or you probably do) but I like to help/welcome newcomers and as a result I have created my own little Help Desk for newcomers and anyone seeking help, and I have created a section titled "Still need help? ask another editor!" and have writen about what to do if you need help and I have mentioned about the {{helpme}} tag and other stuff, but I have also added the "Ask one of my recommended administrators" (I promise, you will understand this fully if you see the article) and I am in the process of picking admins to add to that list, and as you are priviledged you get to be the first admin on that list :-), but it would require helping anyone who wanted questions answering and helping newcomers, etc... So if you dont mind (If you dont want to be on the list, because your too busy, etc... I totally understand) becoming one of my recommended admins on my list? If you do, you can add your name straight on to the list, replacing where it says "No admins as of yet - please use the current 2 options above".
Thank you for your time and happy editing ;-)
P.S, I you leave a message on my talk page i wont reply until Saturday 16th December as i am very busy up until then.
Again thank you.

I try to verify myself but if I click on "Verify Authorisation" nothing happens. Go Futurama! User:Sp3000 10:21, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for helping out
and for pointing out that it had been deleted again -- I left a message alongside yours on Zoe's talk page. I honestly don't know why Zoe is acting the way s/he is and whether or not there's some merit to his/her actions that I'm just not seeing, but it seems like s/he is taking pretty liberal advantage of admin status. I appreciate your willingness to get involved to help resolve this. Dylan 09:06, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks again for your help -- I did as you suggested. Once the AfD is over, I'll post a requested move from Pornotube to PornoTube -- the capitalized T is correct, anyway, and this way we can avoid DRV. Dylan 23:03, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted Edits
I'm pretty sure admins are able to check deleted edits so... if possible, can you check about how many I have. I just want to know. Thanks! TeckWizTalkContribs@ 20:50, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] i was wondering.
do you get paid for this? what is the first page created? can you give me a link to it? and how can i post something besides my userpage without it beig called nonsense and deleted? (lokk for Jim harbis in your deleted files or ask Lucky 6.9 about it.)--Ninja Dojo 22:16, 16 December 2006 (UTC)SHING!
[edit] what
You reverted my edit to Peace Of Mind (Fake Beatles Song) for some reason. I would like an explanation. I think "fake song" is a little POV, don't you? I was trying to redirect it to the NPOV article, Peace Of Mind (song) Hahawhat 22:55, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I wasn't sure how titles worked. The alternative article I made was Peace Of Mind (Song), you might want to delete that or whatever. Hahawhat 23:01, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thank You!
Thank you for your input at my RFA, which successfully closed at 58/2/0. I will think about the 10 questions and answers I had, and I hope that I will use the tools constructively and for the benefit of Wikipedia. If you ever need any help, don't be afraid to drop me a line. I'm here to help afterall! Template:Emot -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 23:37, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Recreation of a DB-Nonsense Article
Hello Glen S, the author of this db nonsense article has recreated it after it was previously deleted a short while ago. Could you take a look at it please? Thank you.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:41, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nice Test :P
You do keep your eyes on watchlists don't you :P! Well the tools seem spot on great however it does not automatically pop up to the user talk page as you described (it does give me the warning templates however, which I have already broken in on one user). I'm not a whiz with monobook programming so how should I turn popups off?¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:11, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for taking the time to set me up with the whole shebang however as I mentioned above, I'm not so familiar with customizing monobook...I'm trying to find which coding to remove in order to inactivate popups but I'm sort of lost at the moment. When you have the chance I would greatly appreciate if you could indicate what I need to do in order to remove it from my monobook, thanks.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:21, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh trust me I love it! I just want to make sure I'm aware of how to use it! The only problem that I am running into is that the user talk page does not appear automatically. It successfully displays a screen which shows various messages of how it is reverting the edit and then it shows the article once more. I had to go through the article history and press on the IP/username manually and press the tabs at the side to issue a warning. Anything that I might be doing wrong?¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:34, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
I apologise that I have begun to pester you today but seems like I've got new problems. I added wikipedia.org to my safe list in my standard popup blocker. When I returned I noticed that my "revert vandal" link that use to appear is no there anymore (however the "restore this version" link is still there). I tried refreshing the cach with "Crtl F5" but this did not work. I also restored my monobook to the version with Lupis popups and refreshed again but this still did not fix the problem. I appreciate your help, thanks.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:47, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

- Scratch that! Salvation at last! I forgot to refresh my monobook.css as well :P, silly me...programming language is a tricky thing it is.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:52, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
