  • You might be thinking of Harvey Milk, who was San Francisco's first openly gay city supervisor, who was assassinated in 1978. DAllen\talk 20:04, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not Properly Referenced

"Glen Murray (born October 27, 1957) is a politician who was formerly the mayor of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was the first openly gay mayor in a large North American city.[1]"

The the Toronto Star article "Reverse Brain Drain brings expert to U of T" doesn't say that Glen Murray was the first openly gay mayour of a major North American City, it only says that he was mayor of Winnipeg and now works for the University of Toronto.
