[edit] History
The Durban Technical School for Boys was founded in 1910, the same year the Union of South Africa was formed. Upon moving to its present location in Glenwood, its name was changed to Glenwood High School. It has a historical rivalry with Durban High School, the oldest boys' high school in Durban.
[edit] The School today
Glenwood High School is located on the corner of MacDonald and Nicholson roads. The current headmaster is Mr Trevor Kershaw.
The School has an excellent record in a variety of activities, ranging from rugby union, cricket, hockey, swimming and waterpolo to cultural activities such as debating, drama, choir, public speaking and chess. The school has sporting academies for rugby, cricket and hockey as well as a recently opened performing arts academy headed by a reputable performer Shelly Mclean. These academies are for talented young men in their specific fields, and the aim is to teach academy students the finer details of the game or cultural pursuit.
