Glenville Fire Department

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1903 to serve and protect the residents and those who worked in Glenville, Connecticut. Originally the Fire Station was located at the Veterans Club on Riversville Road, but later moved to its current location on Glenville Street.

Current vehicles are completely up to date, and kept in fully working order. An antique hand-drawn hose cart is kept on the station's appliance floor to remind members of what firefighting was like in the "good old days".

The company's current station will soon be something from the past as it is to be refurbished in the next year or so, when the town is able to do the work.
