Glenn Beringen (born September 16, 1964 in Adelaide) was an Australian breaststroke swimmer of the 1980s from Adelaide, who won a silver medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. He was continually thwarted at international level by the Canada Victor Davis.

At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Beringen was roundly beaten into second place by Davis, trailing home by 2.81 seconds. It was more of the same in Los Angeles, when Davis won by a margin of 2.45 seconds, the largest in an Olympic breaststroke event for half a century. Beringen also competed in the 200 m individual medley, where he was eliminated in the heats.

Beringen later became a coach, beginning at the South Australian Sports Institute from 1991 until 2002, before serving at the Australian Institute of Sport until 2004, when he retired. Among his athletes at the AIS were Olympic gold medallists Petria Thomas and Sarah Ryan. He coached his athletes for three individual short course world records, two short course and long course relay world records.

Glen moved back to Adelaide where he worked for a short from Swim SA promoting the sport but has recently begun coaching a squad of elite SA swimmers.
