Glenn, Georgia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glenn is a settlement in Heard County, Georgia, United States named for its early settler David Glenn who at this location was the largest land owner in Heard County, Georgia, with over 5,000 acres (20 km²).

Speculation is that this Glenn is a descendant of the wealthy Charleston, SC merchant William Glenn of the merchant house Cooper & Glenn.

Glenn is located two miles (3 km) east of Rock Mills, Alabama, and east of the Alabama/Georgia State Line.

Note the County Courthouse at Franklin, Heard Co, Ga burned leaving all records gone and checking early records difficult.

Census records have been compiled and made available by researchers showing Glenn's larger land holdings.
