Glendale is a suburb of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, located 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Newcastle's central business district at the northern tip of Lake Macquarie. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie local government area.

The name is Anglo-Celtic in origin - "glen" is a Scottish term for a valley between hills, usually with trees, and "dale" is an English term for a valley between hills.

Recently Glendale has been the focus of discussion as an emerging town centre. The Property Councilreleased a discussion paper urging the Commonwealth and NSW Government to complete arrangements for construction of a regional bus and rail interchange at Glendale. The Glendale Interchange would significantly improve services across Lake Macquarie, south west Newcastle, new land release areas, and the Glendale shopping centre. Glendale, relative to other areas is well serviced by public transport and is adjacent to, but not directly connected to, the Cardiff industrial estate, which is the largest industrial estate in the Lower Hunter. The railway line presently separates the industrial estate from Glendale. The centre serves the local communities of Argenton, Edgeworth, Boolaroo and Speers Point.
