Glenbard North High School, or GBN, and locally referred to as "North," is a public four-year high school located at the corner of Kuhn Road and Lies Road in Carol Stream, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Glenbard Township High School District 87, which also includes Glenbard South High School, Glenbard East High School, and Glenbard West High School.
The use of "GBN" as a reference for the school is not unique to Glenbard North. Many residents in the Chicago area, particularly following athletics, often need to differentiate between Glenbard North and the unrelated school Glenbrook North, which is located in the north suburbs and also commonly uses the shortened form "GBN".

[edit] History
Glenbard North opened its doors in August of 1968, and was the third of what would eventiually become a four school district. The first principal of Glenbard North was Raymond Livingston. Burt Weber served Glenbard North as principal from 1971-1989, having the longest tenure of any Glenbard North principal (through 2007). The football field at the school, Weber Field, was named in his honor. In terms of student population, Glenbard North is the largest high school among the four high schools in Glenbard Township District 87, currently serving approximately 2,827 students from Carol Stream, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, and Bloomingdale, Illinois.

In 2005, Glenbard North had an average composite ACT score of 21.3, and graduated 93.4% of its senior class. Glenbard North has not made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.[1]

The Boy's Wrestling team has won 10 straight Dupage Valley Conference titles, from 1998 to 2008 under IHSA Hall of Fame Head Coach Mark Hahn. The girls track and field and cross country teams were considered a top program in the 1990's. The boys football team has been a perennial playoff team since the year 2000. Girls softball is also consistently ranked as one of the highest teams in the state.
