[edit] Athletics
Glen Rock's athletic teams have been successful in recent years. The football team won five consecutive state championships, from 1998-2002, one short of the state record.[6] (Grant Adams, who continued his career playing for Boston College and appeared in a pre-season game for the Philadelphia Eagles, played on the 98-00 teams.) The girls soccer team has also been a state power for a decade. (Sarah Volkomer, a member of the 2004 team, was selected to that year's All-American Team.) In the last 2 years the ice hockey team has gone a combined 39-8-4, winning league and cup titles both years. All teams, with the exception of the Ice Hockey, and Girls and Boys Lacrosse teams, compete in the Bergen-Passaic Scholastic League (BPSL).
The football team won the 2001 North I, Group I state sectional championship with a 22-14 win against Cresskill High School.[7] The team won its fifth consecutive sectional championship with a 41-0 win against Henry P. Becton Regional High School in 2002.[6][8]
The girls tennis team took the North I, Group I sectional title in 1999 with a 4-1 win vs. Henry P. Becton Regional High School in the tournament finals.[9][10]

Interestingly, all of the band were Glen Rock High School graduates, and they all went on to be successful musicians."
