[edit] Specialist Status
Unlike the adjoining Gleed Girls', as of 2008, the Gleed Boys' has no specialist school status.
[edit] Facilities
There is an artificial turf field, next to the main school field, though there have been problems with drainage, putting it out of use at times. The turf is not owned by the school, but rather a local Sports' body. The Spalding Hockey Club teams make use of the turf for training. The astro turf is used regularly for PE/games lessons, during these lessons activities such as football, hockey and the popular choice of volleyball during the summer. On the large playing field there are rugby and cricket pitches as well as a running track and long jump sand pit. The large inside gym is used for lessons such as gymnastics, archery etc. At the end of the school field there is a 6th form building currently under construction to be finished late 2010 to early 2011. The 6th form building is now under construction and maybe finished for September 2008 which is earlier than thought. it will be named the South Holland post 16 centre.
[edit] Extra-curricular activities
The large PE department organises a wide range of sports and often hosts inter-school events, such as cross country, football, rugby and cricket. It also offers archery and a chess club, as well as these the large Design Technology department also opens their doors for after school activities to those pupils who decide they would like to practice the skills of DT.
[edit] Charity Fundraising
Christopher Smith, Thomas Adams and Oliver Needham (Year 11 students) helped the school to raise over £300 for Beating Bowel Cancer on 1st February 2008. They held a quiz night at the school and raised £324 from the evening. The Gleed Boys also raised £104 for its Loud Tie Day.
