[edit] 2nd Order Phase Transition
The glass transition is only analogous to a 2nd order phase transition. Although it seems appealing to describe the glass transition as second order due to the discontinuities such as heat capacity Cp, there are several factors which cause this model to fail, for example, if the glass transition was a genuine thermodynamic phase transition then the observed changes in the glass transition temperature with thermal history would not be possible Jdrewitt 17:57, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
