Glasgow Cathouse
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cathouse is long-established nightclub, playing mainly rock/metal and alternative music such as emo, on Union Street in Glasgow. It also hosts live gigs. Bands that have played there have included Dragonforce, Lordi, Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco
The club began in 1990 in the Hollywood Studios building (now demolished) in Brown St and moved to Union St in 1997.
The Cathouse is part of Cathouse Promotions Limited who also own or lease a number of other Glasgow clubs and bars:
- The Garage
- The Catwalk Rock Lounge (previously Underworld)
- The Tunnel
- Stavka
The Union St property was leased until 2005, but has now been purchased by CPL, and was thoroughly refurbished with a relaunch party at the end of October 2005.
The Cathouse is now considered by most of the Glasgow fashion scene as a center for goth and emo subculture in Scotland.
