Gladstone Dock railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gladstone Dock railway station was a station located on the North Mersey Branch West of Rimrose Road (A565) within the MDHB Dock Estate, named after Gladstone Dock. It opened on the 7 Sept 1914. It closed on 7 July 1924.
The station although closed to passengers, remained in use for freight up until the 1960s. However the embankment on which the single platform station was situated has long since been demolished. There is no evidence of the station's existence, as the site is inside what is now the Royal Seaforth Docks.
