[edit] Dramatic and lyric soprano?
How is it possible for a singer to be both a dramatic soprano and a lyric soprano? They have two totally different vocal timbres. I am not familiar with the singer so I can't make a personal judgement but as a professional opera singer I can tell you that it is virtually impossible for a voice to be both lyric and dramatic. Perhaps she is a spinto soprano?Nrswanson (talk) 05:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- I just listened to a you tube video of her singing. It's hard to tell from just one aria but I think she is a spinto soprano. She is definitely not a lyric soprano. She lacks the tone color of the lyric and has a weightier voice. She is definitely not a wagnerian soprano. It is possible that she may be a dramatic soprano but her voice doesn't seem quite heavy enough for that. I really think she is a spinto soprano. Nrswanson (talk) 05:20, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
