[edit] Date of death

My information says he died on 30 May, but I don't have my original source so I don't know how true that is. Google is very unhelpful about his date of death (or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place). Can anybody verify whether it's 29 or 30 May. JackofOz 10:11, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

I added this article as a stub after seeing 29 May as the date of his death on a regular daily posting by Walter Loomis at http://www.Listserv.cuny.edu. With 1500 opera experts worldwide subscribing to Opera-L bulletin board and Loomis' long-time participation on it with his daily postings of opera anniversaries, etc., I can only assume the date to be correct, since no one has jumped up in opposition.

Thanks, Vivaverdi. Your link isn't working at the moment. I think the lack of argument about the 29 May date is probably a fair indicator if its accuracy. Cheers JackofOz 03:12, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Grove give 29 May. - Kleinzach 22:30, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Whatever is the right date, surely it can't be that he had his heart attack a day after he died:). S.Kedem
