Girl Fight Tonight was the third single released by singer and comedian Julie Brown, the second from her only album Trapped in the Body of a White Girl. It was released in 12" and 7" vinyl formats as well as on a promotional-only CD. The song is an 80s spoof of the traditional "call-and-response" R&B songs by female girl groups of the 50s. The comedic lyrics find Brown spewing vitriol at an un-named blonde adversary who is using unsavory techniques to steal away men. It features chorus girls responding in harmonies: "Oh, all in love is fair! (She'll rip out your hair...)"
The song received a music video which received heavy airplay on MTV due in part to Brown's status as a VJ. The cover of the single features Brown in a cheerleading outfit with pink-spattered paint in the background; this was original colored red to represent the bloody aftermath of a "girl fight," but was changed due to record label concerns. The "M" on her uniform stands for "Murder".
