[edit] Using edit summaries to comment on other editors

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Shell babelfish 13:55, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Style and tone

You are making exactly the same mistakes as you did with your last account. Do you want this one to be permanently blocked too? --ajn (talk) 14:06, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

And I ask you: have certain editors changed their behavior even one iota? Kindly do not for one millisecond try to paint this as one-sided. I will try my very, very hardest to stay cool, but you have some nasty colleagues who have not changed their behavior and are still playing the puerile, Ivy-League-undergrad-with-too-much-parental-money games. For the record: I am not the one who is picking a fight here. Not all of your colleagues could say the same. Meanwhile, I have work to do -- and in several languages -- so kindly do not disturb me unless it is a Wiki matter of importance. Thank you, GiovaneScuola2006 14:20, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi Gio. I know that you think I have a vendetta against you. Let me assure you that this is not the case. However, you might want to reread your contributions before you press the "save" button to check for personal attacks. Using language such as "puerile" or "Ivy-League-undergrad-with-too-much-parental-money" isn't going to help. Grover cleveland 14:39, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Grove, I don't know if this is the right place (I never can seem to find the write place to write things), but: (a) I admit that I do feel that you have a personal vendetta. It is how I feel, rightly or wrongly. I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong on that point. (b) When you say "isn't going to help you," you're implying that I need some sort of "help." I intend, instead, to behave very well, so that the ones who need the real help will come to light. (c) I really mean this -- I want very badly to call a truce. I would love nothing more than to discuss edits with you et al. Discuss. Nicely. Calmly. This would make me truly, truly happy. I see now what I did not see before: doing the "discussing" via the edits is basically an editing war and, in fact, isn't a discussion at all. (d) If this was the wrong page to say any of this, please someone kindly tell me where I should have said it. Please, no "warnings" or heavy-handed stuff like that. There is too much of this on the English wiki. (Fortunately I'm registered in five other languages, so I have a source of comparison.) (e) Does any of this touch you in any way? That is: do you also have a feeling in your heart that you'd like to end this battling? I do and I'm hoping that you do, also. GiovaneScuola2006 14:48, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Theater (structure)

It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed content from Theater (structure). Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. --Geniac 14:33, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Ah, mea culpa. I will go to that page now and explain why I did it. I did it in several other languages as well -- it is an ongoing, global clean-up. (If you wouldn't mind, could you remove the "warning" thing? A little heavy-handed in a peaceful discussion.) Thanks, GiovaneScuola2006 14:34, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV

Thank you for your interesting addition to The Music of Italy. I took out a few words that are "loaded" in order to conform to Wikipedia's NPOV policy: that is, lamentable, disgruntled, great (2x), and unfortunately. Cheers from Naples. Jeffmatt 09:25, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Haje fatto buono. Thanks for your edits and for the courtesy of explaining them to me. Best, GiovaneScuola2006 21:49, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
