Talk:Giotto (disambiguation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello people of Wikipedia. There are two things that I would like to address concerning plagiarism and contradictive information.
1. [1] : This page (along with the biography link from it) from the site 'Art in The Picture' contains selections written word for word to the this Wikipedia entry on Giotto. I am not sure who is copying who here. Possibly they could be the same author?
2. This article on Giotto states that it is Pope Benedict VIII that was given Giotto's sample "O" work. [2] along with several other web sites with information regarding Giotto claim that it is Pope Boniface XI that was given Giotto's sample "O" work. Not being a history major (9th grade world history), I have no clue which is correct, but, because Boniface XI was a known patron to Giotto, I tend to lean more towards Boniface and not Benedict. If anyone would like to invesigate this futher that would be awsome, as it is 10:39 p.m. here and I have a project to finish up leaving me without any more time to linger on with this question.
Thank you for your time.
- I think you meant to point to the article Giotto_di_Bondone. It looks pretty clear to me (given some of their other artist profiles) that Art in the Picture is plagarizing from the Wiki. You'll also see a discussion of the Pope issue in the talk page for Giotto. Specifucally, it was Pope_Benedict_XI, not Boniface or the equally incorrect Pope_Benedict_IX. HTH.
