Giovanni Marcora (nickname Albertino) (Inveruno, Province of Milan December 22 1922, Inveruno February 5 1983) was an Italian businessman, politician and minister.

The life of Giovanni Marcora is marked from various stages: the resistance, the political care in the row of the Christian Democratic Party and in Parliament, the role of local administrator, that one of entrepreneur in the field of the building constructions and the primary field. But, perhaps, it above all remains famous in order to have been one of "the more long-lived" ministers in the political history of the Country, guiding the ministry of Agriculture between 1974 and 1980, in order then to pass to that one of the Industry in biennium 1981-1982. Original of Inveruno, common small of the From Milan one, is born 22 December 1922. Giuseppe, the father, butcher and small breeder, had married four years before with Erminia Garavaglia: from the wedding four sons are born: Giovanni is the second one. Remained orphaned of mother in tender age, it attends the communal schools and the oratory. Diploma Geometrician in 1941. Called the crews, after the 8 September 1943, to single 21 years, Marcora becomes partisan and work - with the nickname of Albertino, than for the life it will remain - between the Milan province and the Ossola, participating to the liberation of Milan the April 25, 1945. In 1968 senator in the college of Vimercate is elect for first time. Between 1970 and the 1975 and from 1980 until death are mayor of Inveruno. The political consacrazione arrives in 1974,when Aldo Moro calls it to the Government like minister of Agriculture; Marcora remains uninterruptedly to the guide of the same ministry until 1980 (comes launched in these years the "law Four-leaf clover"), passing then to that one of the Industry in biennium 1981-82. Epiche its battles to Brussels, where it then defends the interests before agriculture of the Italian industry in the European assembly.
