Giorgos Kolokithas

Giorgos Kolokithas (born in 1945) is a retired Greek basketball player. He is considered as one of the best greek scorers in history.

Kolokithas played in his career for Sporting BC and Panathinaikos BC. Along with Panathinaikos he won 4 championships (1967, 1969, 1971, 1972). He totally scored in the greek champioship 3.529 points having as a record point game 51 points. In 1964, 1966 and 1967 he was elected the best scorer of the championship. In european club competition he reached, with Panathinaikos, the semi-finals of European Cup Winners' Cup in 1969 and the semi-finals of European Champions Cup in 1972.

Kolokithas has played 90 games with Greek national team and scored 1807 points. He has 25 participations in Eurobasket games with 492 points (19.7 per game):
- In Eurobasket 1967 he was the first scorer of the tournament, scoring 206 points (22.9 per game).
- In Eurobasket 1969 he repeated his success being the first tournament scorer with 159 points (22.7 per game).
In 1971 he retired from the National squad scoring in his last game 35 points against Scotland
Now he is president of all Greek National teams.
