Giorgio Morini

Giorgio Morini is an Italian midfielder, who coached the Italian football team AC Milan for part of the 1996-97 season. As a player, Morini was part of the Serie A winning team of 1978/79.

Giorgio Morini started his career with Internazionale FC in 1967/68, but never played a game for the side. The following year he moved to A.S. Varese 1910, spending four seasons with the club.
Moving to AS Roma in 1972, Morini made a name for himself, representing the capitalside for the next four seasons. In 1976 he earned a contract with AC Milan, spending another four seasons there, winning the Scudetto in 1979.
After to seasons at minors Pro Patria and a short spell with low-league team FC Chiaso, Morini ended his career in 1984.

Despite being one of the strongest midfielders of his generation, Giorgio Morini never earned a cap for the Azzzurri.

Giorgio Morini took up coaching, once his active career came to an end, leading youth-teams to glory, primarily at AC Milan. When Oscar Washington Tabarez was fired from the Rossonero club in 1997, Morini took over for a short period. That was his first and, till now, last run as a coach of a topflight side.
