The article can be expanded beyond her filmography, can't it? It seems so little...

Croupier (1997) ? Should be 1998.

Yes it should .... Corrected lɘɘяɘM яɘɫƨɐƮ 13:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lenny Henry

no idea why her page says this - her IMDb doesn't say so, nor the film reference link, and numerous interviews (including the one i added today) mention Quest of Eagles... But i'm no good at adding refs Amo (talk) 17:59, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes IMDb does say this - look at number 51 in her filmography list on this page [1]. Wikipedia's page does need a little rewording though as she has several background roles in 86 and 87. There is no way to know which one of these actually had her speaking lines, as IMDB lists non speaking roles also, but we can "assume good faith" in the LH entry until better info becomes available. thanks for fixing that. i didnt' mean to suggest that she hadn't been in Lenny Henry, only that the IMDb and FilmReference.com etc showed earlier credits. Certainly this would seem to suggest that Jane was at least a significant supporting character in Quest of Eagles, but tbh i like the articles as is. Amo (talk) 10:40, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Gina McKee's birth year

User Amoammo has pointed out that there is a source supporting the 1964 birth year. I have read this source more than once and come to these conclusions. It asks the question which year she was born in the opening and later it has one brief sentence stating that she was born in 1964. In the first place this could easily be a typo. It is also important to note that it does not quote her it just states it. Please don't say that we can assume she told them this because that is not something an encyclopedia can do. If she did tell this interviewer this it is necessary to note that she would not be the first person, actor or otherwise, to hedge on their age. But, as with the last sentence we cannot assume that this is what is happening. After reading it a third time, as I stated in my edit summary, I checked on Google and found that there are many more hits showing the 1961 birth year, including several that are more authoratative than this interview (granted this is my opinion - others may disagree). Unfortunately the internet is full of alledged interviews that never occurred. Though again we can not assume that in this situation.

In my last edit summary where I altered the opening to note both dates I gave an example that I have experienced on the page for Helen Mirren. Numerous interviews with Ms Mirren state that she was born in Leigh-on-Sea which is many miles east of London. IMDb had it listed as Chiswick which is in west London. For a year or so when editors changed her page to read Chiswick I reverted it based on these interviews, some of which could be accessed from the web. Then an enterprising wikipedian looked up her birth certificate and found that she had been born in a hospital in Chiswick.

I do not believe that we have any conclusive, verifiable evidence that we can rely on to state one date over the other, which is why I have tried to allow for both dates in the opening paragraph of this page. I am posting this message here in the hope that another editor may track down the correct info and be able to settle the situation. Also, I believe in Wikipedia's reliance on consensus. If this situation bothers anyone please feel free to post any of this on the talk area for the WP:BLP and I will be happy to go along with what the consensus of the members of the project.
