Gino Padula (born July 11, 1976 in Lanús) is an Argentinian football left back who currently plays for Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer in the United States[1].
Padula started his career with Argentine giants River Plate in 1996 before moving to Huracán in 1997. In 1998 he moved to Europe to play for Xerez in Spain. His move to Europe was facilitated by the fact that he is the holder of a Spanish passport.
Padula played in English football between 1999 and 2006. His first club in England was Bristol Rovers. After a short spell there, he went onto Walsall, Wigan and QPR, before joining Nottingham Forest in summer 2005. In his first season at the City Ground, he made only five appearances in total for the club before leaving by 'mutual consent'. He then moved to Montpellier HSC in France, however having only made seven appearances, he transferred to the Columbus Crew.
