Ginnareemimus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Ginnareemimus" is the informal name given to an as-yet undescribed genus of theropod dinosaur, apparently an ornithomimosaurian, from Thailand. It is known only from incomplete remains including vertebrae and a third metatarsal with distinctive lateral "pinching" (this is known as the "arctometarsalian" condition, variations of which are found in ornithomimosaurs, tyrannosauroids, troodontids, and caenagnathids). It may have lived as early as the Valanginian to Hauterivian (Early Cretaceous), which would make it among the earliest (if not the earliest) ornithomimosaur known, depending on the age of the formation. It was first mentioned in a publication by Ryuichi Kaneko in 2000.
