The Gingerbread Man, nicknamed Gingy, is a talking gingerbread man character in the movies Shrek, Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third.

[edit] Biography

The Gingerbread Man was created by the Muffin Man. He is small and a fast runner, making him difficult to catch. In the first Shrek movie, Lord Farquaad broke off both of his legs to torture him and prevent him from running away. In the process, one of the legs was crumbled to pieces. At the end of the movie, the intact leg was reattached using frosting and Gingy used a candy cane as a crutch to make up for missing his other leg. By Shrek 2, he somehow got his missing leg replaced, also attached with frosting. In Shrek the Third, when threatened by Prince Charming and Captain Hook, Gingy's whole life flashes before him, and it is revealed that Gingy took months of painful exercise and rehabilitation to make his new legs strong (with scenes lifted from the opening titles of The Six Million Dollar Man). He also seems to be or was married, has children, and owns and rides a small toy car (such as Stuart Little). He begins singing "On the Good Ship Lollipop" in delirium.

In the TV Special "Shrek The Halls" it is revealed that that Gingy's wife, Suzy, was eaten by Santa. He became afraid of Santa ever since.
