I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on The Curse of the Thirty Denarii. I do not think that The Curse of the Thirty Denarii fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because the link to the series page gave context. Hello Gilliam,

My article 'The Happy Leonards' was deleted yesterday and I am not sure why. I was told it was tagged for speedy deletion when I signed in this morning so I had no chance to contest it with my ((hangon)). The reason for the speedy deletion was that I hadn't established why the band was of importance. This band is immensely popular in Adelaide (population 1.2 million), South Australia, Australia. They cannot walk down the street without being recognised. I thought it was a travesty they didn't have an article written about them yet so I thought I would get the ball rolling and let other citizens of Adelaide who know them better edit as they wish. For this reason, I believe they are very 'noteworthy' people. Thankyou for your consideration.

You deleted Bernard L. Austin on 19 July as a copyvio. However, the source specified is http://www.history.navy.mil/ar/alfa/austin_bl.htm which is a US Government work. US Government works are in the public domain and not subject to copyright. While we prefer to attribute the source, it is not a copyvio to not do so. I'm not convinced that this person is notable enough to bother restoring, but I would appreciate it if you could be more careful in deleting articles as copyvio's in the future. As an administrator, I am very disappointed that you have not read Wikipedia:Notability as of yet. Big business is not to be favored over small business in the face of six references, which you have completely ignored. Please read the guidelines carefully about how notability is established. Being a single franchise does not under any circumstances make something not notable. While all "famous" and "important" subjects are notable, not all notable subjects are famous or important. In good faith I am hoping you will provide a solid argument for deletion, outside of "gut feeling" votes. That being said, I have very little faith in many editors on this site anymore, as so often they vote on "instinct", not policy. The Cincinnati Enquirer is absolutely, undeniably a reliable source. Two articles in their paper have been devoted to the chili parlor, and appear in the reference section of the article. There are four other references as well. Please go back and look over the references, and also read Wikipedia:Notability. I believe you will come to see the error in your vote. Bit mystified by the claim for javanese language variety title for jakarta places - for a start bahasa indonesia - they look like - do you have a particular source that claims the javanese terminology? Are you aware of the diff between Javanese (which is not the langauge of Jakarta for a start - its in west java which is in the sundanese region) and Bahasa Indonesia - mohon maaf if I have in fact been impolite or misread your work - but I have a terrible feeling you are on a wrong limb. If you are checking against entries in the Javanese version of wikipedia - fine. Its just that as I have put it above - there are potentially many languages where variants of place names can and do occur - sundanese,javanese, betawi, bahasa indonesia, dutch transcriptions, english transcriptions. If you are interpolating from or to another wikipedia - if it is javanese - your tags are correct, to a point. However - sometimes some editors in the javanese wikipedia might actually be putting the indonesian terms rather than the javanese (or sundanese) - and so on. I have not checked many -if I find a dif that bothers me I'll let you know - I lost most of my watchlist about a month back - and not all the jakarta locations are back on it yet. I see that you have done a great job of reverting vandalism, as at the article Incandescent light bulb. Unfortunately, when you revert without also placing a warning on the vandal's page, it does not set them up for any form of banning, and they can go on their merry way vandalizing other articles. I had just reverted the same vandal's actions on that same page, and would have ratcheted up the warning toward the point that I could have asked for an administrator to ban the IP address. This article was deleted through AfD, and it wasn't until a significant amount of time went by that you decided to recreate the page and redirect it to underweight. For one, if anyone, including moderators, decided that it would have been better to redirect, they would have done so before deleting the article and closing the AfD discussion. Second, the redirect is logically wrong as a thin body does not equate to being underweight. Third, much of the controversy that caused the thin (body) article to be created was caused by the initial redirect from "thin" to underweight. Now the article has to be deleted again because of this. Though we've added over 180 new members in the last year, only a small percentage are active participants. If you haven't visited our project or talk page in a while, please stop by for a look. Well meaning editors continue to remove our tags from the articles themselves as well as the talk pages. If you have time, please read the articles and watchlist them to protect them from vandalism and well meaning but counterproductive edits. List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people The list of LGBT people has survived its 4th nomination for deletion. Please watchlist this list to protect it from vandalism and unsourced additions. There are many in Wikipedia who would like to see this Featured status list removed from the project. It is up to us to keep it to such a high caliber that it never is removed. So much has been happening this month and I just can't wait to tell you all about it!!! [edit] Alice and her harasser Let's start with some good news: Alice and the project lost the bothersome sock puppet who had been disrupting many articles we monitor, and now most of us can edit in relative peace. Congratulations, Alice, for being able to come out of semi-retirement. Benjiboi, on the other hand, has gained an anonymous IP stalker who seems to be more Catholic than the Pope and who has a hard-on for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. We seem to have a sort of Yin and Yang thing going on here, which helps both to keep us in balance and on our toes <bright smiles all around>. [edit] Harry Potter and his homosexual teacher Albus Dumbledore got outed this month, and was immediately adopted by our project. The international brouhaha surrounding this disclosure reached all the way to Wikiland, and his article was briefly locked due to homophobic vandalism (as well as well meaning editors who just couldn't believe that that nice man could possibly be gay). This is a wonderful article to add to your watchlist, and will surely give you hours of reverting fun on cold winter days. [edit] "My Fellow Americans" On a more serious note, Fireplace has suggested a new article series about LGBT rights in the United States, state by state. This ambitious topic will surely require many editors and a lot of research, but has the potential to add further prestige to our already prestigious project. Hi there, I have a block IP adress request. About 6 months ago, you blocked IP addresss 70.158.51.100, a persistant vandaliser. However, now that his block has been lifted, he recently vandalized this page. Portal:Current events/Europe, replacing the entire content with the word hello. You can check the history of the page to see for yourself. I have reverted the page back to what it was and hereby post a request that the IP address is blocked again, as vandalizing a portal page is very serious offence. Well, maybe it's not Miss Thang, herself, but it's the next best thing: Chris Crocker! he stirs up just about as much controversy as his idol does, even here on Wikipedia. Though it's all a bit of a muddle, one of our editors hopes you can drop by the talk page and leave a message of hope for those battling the forces of obstructionism in that little corner of the Wiki World. It is so hard to spread enlightenment. As Miss Parker herself said, "You can lead a whore to culture, but you can't make her think". Game show for nerds Wallowing in cash from the latest beg-a-thon, the powers-that-be have decided to sponser a little contest here to improve the articles, with a Grand prize of $100. Yeah. Just enough for a Burger King dinner for the family. Still, the thought is nice and the goal is noble, so we should support it. Our little Queer beehive has taken a look at what's on offer, and both the Greek Traditionalists and Daughters of Bilitis are well represented. The ever useful SatyrTN has made a little list, which can be found here (if that malignant bot hasn't archived it already, that is). So find a pal, roll up your sleeves and dive right in. Let's show this Encyclopedia just what Queers with firecrackers up their....err, I mean, let's show the others what we can do. Jón Þór Birgisson I can't pronounce his name, but he's awfully cute, he's deliciously foreign, and best of all...he's GAY! But he won't be for long, if certain users have their way. A concerted effort has been under way for a while now, designed to neuter poor Jon (pretend I put a little accent thingy over that O) and make him into a sort of rockin' Ken doll. So please watchlist this hunka man, and keep him queer! If anybody questions you, tell them "Miss Julie sent me". TranSanta Everybody loves a sequel Readers not afflicted with Alzheimer's will remember that last month we had a little story about Alice and her harasser. That proved so popular that we bring you the sequel: Benjiboi and his stalker. After a chance meeting at the Michael Lucas article, this anonymous user took a shine to our Benjiboi, and has been showering him with attention on virtually every board on Wikipedia. Flattered though he is, Benjiboi finds the attention a bit distracting, and administrators have been seeking various remedies for this. It has proven difficult, as the stalker has an IP address that changes quicker than Superman in a telephone booth. So perhaps some of you would like to watchlist Benjiboi's page, and lend a hand if you see some love letters from an 11 digit friend. I was actually thinking we should get Alice's harasser and Benjiboi's stalker together. Then we could have another sequel, sort of like Freddy vs. Jason. Any bets as to who would win?? To quote the divine Miss Parker, every time I saw the article on my watchlist, I thought to myself, "What fresh hell is this?". The page was protected by sympathetic administrators, but keeping an eye on it will keep Dorothy safe from future Wicked Witches of the West or East. Ambrosia Our dear Benjiboi has been busy indeed, lately. He recently made fruit salad out of Fruit, turning a once nasty word into a damn good article, and saving it from deletion! Regarding the users 206.113.137.3 and 206.113.132.130.

I'm not sure if I'm going about this in the right way, so forgive me if not and perhaps you can point me in the right direction or redirect this message.

In October, if I understand the logs correctly, you blocked 206.113.137.3. Other admins have also blocked this account. I would have referred to the most recent admin to be involved but it seems he may be away. This account has been dormant for some time, but a series of edits by another user with a similar IP address - 206.113.132.130 - has recently started. You will see at Talk:BNP#The Searchight Link that this user has made personal attacks on me, and has today reverted to to the other user name and admitted that they are one and the same. This user appears to be be boasting that they will continue to disrupt Wikipedia by using public computers and hence evading blocks. You will seee from the edit logs of both accounts that, almost without exceptions, edits have been pure vandalism frequently involving racist or offensive material. A great deal of Wikipedian time has been wasted in reverting these edits.

I can cope with the personal attacks, but given this development, the repeated vandalism and the indication that it is intended to continue, I feel that some serious action needs to be taken. Can you do anything? Emeraude (talk) 18:13, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Two New Featured Articles (and...) Emma Goldman was promoted to Featured status on 2007 December 27. If you don't know Ms. Goldman, she was a Lithuanian anarchist. Aren't many of those around, really, so having one of our very own is special. She'll be dancing the Cha-Cha on the Promenade deck later tonight. Ann Bannon was promoted to Featured status on 2007 December 3. Faithful readers may remember Moni moaning that we didn't mention this promotion in the last newsletter. Happy now? Ludwig Wittgenstein seems to have been dropped from the vaunted roles - he was downgraded to "B class" on 29 December 2007. What a way to end the year! Let's see - we started December with 35 FAs. We added two and dropped one. So somewhere there's a missing FA - has anyone seen one lying around? I am concerned that Allegations of state terrorism by the United States may be making unsubstantiated claims of terrorism and or assisting in state terrorism against living people and organizations. This is particularly true of the "Terrorism by Cuban refugees within the US against Cuba" Section. I picked you by randomly selecting an administrator, sorry about that, but I have no idea if my concern has any merit and thought I should tell a random administrator. Would you mind taking a look at the edits of User:PetraSchelm at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of films portraying sexual attraction to children or adolescents and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pederastic filmography and determining whether language such as "wank list for pedophiles" regarding an list of mainstream movies and "NAMBLA publicists" in referring to other editors is proper Wikipedia behavior? Thanks for looking into things. German lady?! I thought that was a sock. I still think it is a sock. Does not talk like a lady, least of all a German one. The problem I have is not with the debate. It is with the aggressive, bullying tactics, ad hominem attacks, vulgarities, and the blatant political agenda. This person is in dire need of adult supervision, and the absence of such makes the Wikipedia space seem like anarchy, which is not good for anyone. That is why I appealed to you, in your function as administrator. But if you are comfortable with the tone and thrust of this man's comments, there is nothing more to be said. Hallo Gilliam. Danke für Deine Nachricht auf meiner Diskussionsseite. Ich habe auf de:Benutzer:Heiko/Interwiki die Accounts aufgestellt, die Heiko heißen. Dabei habe ich herausgefunden, dass Du auf af, fi, fy, la und vls jeweils einen Account mit Namen Heiko hast. Würdest Du diese auch umbenennen? Ich versuche herauszufinden, wie das dann funktioniert.
