His name is spelled "Gilles III" in New International Encyclopedia, ergo, I checked Wikipedia for "Gilles," but not for "Gillis." Some old names are often spelled as several different appellations, so duplicate pages are unavoidable due to those variants. Superslum 12:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Indeed, technically the artist discussed here is the "third" in a family with the name Gillis van Coninxloo. However, he is the most prominent and there isn't much (if any) information about the others. --Stomme 21:21, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
