Gillis, Louisiana is an unincorporated area in northern Calcasieu Parish. Gillis, adjacent to two other unincorporated areas Moss Bluff and Topsy, is the northernmost settlement in the greater-Lake Charles area and the last stop where one can buy beer (no liquor) before entering into completely dry Beauregard Parish.
Gillis residents attend schools in Moss Bluff. There is no real distinction regarding where Moss Bluff ends and Gillis begins. It is assumed that if and when Moss Bluff incorporates, Gillis, as well as portions of Topsy and Lebleu Settlement, will be included into any such charter.
