Gilbert Hodgkinson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gilbert Hodgkinson (February 19, 1913 — January 7, 1987) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who played for Derbyshire between 1935 and 1946.
Though Hodgkinson made his first appearances for the Derbyshire team prior to the Second World War, his reputation was to rise somewhat when, in the first County Championship season after the end of the War, he was made club captain. He was a first-team choice throughout the entire 1946 season, however, his average suffered in this new role, and within a season he was out of the team.
During his time with the club Hodgkinson was an upper-middle-order batsman.
