Gilbert Brown Patterson (May 29, 1863–January 26, 1922) was a Representative from North Carolina; born near Maxton, Robeson County, N.C., May 29, 1863; attended Shoe Heel Academy, Shoe Heel (now Maxton), N.C., and the Lurinburg (N.C.) High School; was graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1886; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1890 and commenced practice in Maxton, N.C.; member of the State house of representatives 1899-1901; elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-eighth and Fifty-ninth Congresses (March 4, 1903-March 3, 1907); resumed the practice of law; died in Maxton, N.C., January 26, 1922; interment in Maxton Cemetery.
