Gig Harbor High School is a public high school in the Peninsula School District located in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Gig Harbor High school is a high school in Gig harbor, WA. It was created in 1979 and originally was a 2A school, but is presently 4A (population about 1600). Its mascot is a Tide. The school rivals are Peninsula High School (cross-town) and South Kitsap High school (Port Orchard, WA).

X-Country The Tides X-Country is coached by Patty Ley, who is also an english teacher at GHHS. The tides girls team has won numerous state titles in both genders. The girls team is ranked 7th in the nation. The Boys team has been fairly successful as well. This past fall they placed 2nd at the state meet, only four points away from the title.

Football the Tides football team has won the Narrows League numerous times. This year, they lost the championship to [South Kitsap] in a 9-0 upset. coached by Darren McKay. His son, Spencer McKay, is a Wide Receiver for the Tides, and his Daughter, Taylor, also attends GHHS.

Swimming Both girls in boys swimming at GHHS have remarkable programs.

Wrestling The Riptide wrestling team is coached by Charles Biggs. In 1998 before Biggs was a coach, they had their one and only state champion at heavyweight. In the '07-'08 season, Jesse Chunn took 3rd in state at 152 making him the highest State placer since 2001, when Jen Easton took 2nd. Also in the '07-'08 season, Gig Harbor upset Peninsula in a 42-33 dual meet victory despite having 3 forfeits (totaling 18pts against them).

Track & Field Probably the tides most well-known sport. in the '07 season, both genders won state handily. Both genders have won state many times in the past years. They're coached by Kevin Eager.
