As of 2001 India census,[1] Gidderbaha had a population of 168502 total in which urban is 38,593. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Gidderbaha has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 56%. In Gidderbaha, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Giddarbaha has mainly four relegious places Shri Durga Mata Mandir, Dera Baba Ganga Ramji, Shri Gurdwara Sahib and Gaushala Mandir. Gidderbaha is also famous for its seed manufacturing brands such as Punjab beej bhandar.Several good educational institutions can also be located over here as DAV public school, Malwa School etc. It has a very good connection with the other big cities and is also known as "The Chandigarh of Mukstar district".Recently, the MLA(Manpreet Badal) who won from here is also commanded as the Finance minister of punjab.

It is famous for singers Gurdass Mann, Ashok Masti, Deepak-Dhillon and spacially Hakam suffi(Gurdas mann's guru). It is also world famous for Snuff production(Five photo,Seven photo).
