Gibarac

Gibarac is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Šid municipality, in the Srem District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 1,158 people (2002 census). Before the Croatian War of Independence the ethnic majority of its population were Croats.

The Serb population attempted to rename the town to the more Serbian Dušanovo, meeting with sharp protest by the Croatian community.[1]
