Giant South American Grasshopper Tropidacris violaceus (also called Violet-winged Grasshopper) at Bristol Zoo, Bristol, England.
One of the largest grasshopper species in the world, from the open forests of south and central America.
The eggs take one year to hatch. The young are red and black which might warn predators that they do not taste nice!
