Giaveno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 30 km west of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 15,191 and an area of 72.0 km².[1]
The municipality of Giaveno contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alpe Colombino, Buffa, Chiarmetta, Colpastore, Dalmassi, Maddalena, Mollar dei Franchi, Pontepietra, Provonda, Ruata Sangone, Sala, Selvaggio, and Villa.
Giaveno borders the following municipalities: Avigliana, Valgioie, Coazze, Trana, Perosa Argentina, Cumiana, Pinasca.
