Giant from the Unknown is a low budget film released by Astor Pictures Corporation in 1958. The film starred Ed Kemmer, Sally Fraser, and Buddy Baer. Baer, who played Vargas, the Giant in this film, also played a giant in Jack and the Beanstalk (1952), starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.

A giant, named Vargas (Baer), who was part of an expedition of Spanish Conquistadors, who vanished in the mountains of California in the 1500s is revived by a lightning bolt from a state of suspended animation. He kills a police officer by breaking every bone in his body, then proceeds to terrorize the town.
