The giant baler, Melo amphora, is a very large sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Volutidae, the volutes.
This species is found in Western Australia and Queensland in Australia, and also southern New Guinea.
The maximum dimension of the shell of this species is up to 485 mm.
