Giancarlo Gregorio Maldonado Marrero (born June 29, 1982 in San Cristóbal, Táchira) is a Venezuelan footballer currently playing as a striker for CF Atlante in Mexico. On his debut with Atlante, he scored the first goal in the first minute of the match.

Maldonado first arrived to Atlante from O'Higgins in Chile. In his first game with Atlante, he scored his first goal. He has achieved success as also has Atlante. Atlante won the Apertura 2007.

Considered by many to be Venezuela's best foward, Maldonado played for Venezuela in the Copa América 2007. He scored Venezuela's opening goal of the tournament in the 2-2 draw with Bolivia. He led Venezuela to success in that tournament by helping them make it through the first round for the first time ever. Later, Venezuela lost to Uruguay 4-1.
