[edit] Phi Delta Theta

Hi, I've prodded for deletion Iowa Gamma of Phi Delta Theta‎. In the past, any individual chapter of any fraternity and sorority has been deleted. In fact there was a whole project devoted to creating articles of all chapters of Beta Theta Pi. The entire project was deleted. Wikipedia is not a webspace provider for any individual chapter of any organization. This was actually brought up in the Fraternities and Sororities Wikipedia project when discussing chapter pages. Regardless of any membership size, history, awards etc. they have all been deleted. Also, I've noticed that you've created the category Phi Delta Theta. It's good idea, however only fraternity related articles should be placed in the category and not individual alumni. For example, Sigma Chi has a category[1], but only those articles related to the organization as a whole such as their philanthropy, magazine etc. are included, not their alumni. There was actually a category of famous alumni for each individual fraternity. These too were also deleted [2]. Lists are fine in placing alumni but not categories. Hope this helps. If you have any questions please let me know. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 02:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] PDT response

Thanks for the heads up. I'm new and picked this as one of my first couple articles. It was proposed for deletion before for the notability requirement but I deleted the reference since it seemed to meet the criteria. Your reference makes more sense; if you'd done it yesterday you could have saved me the afternoon ;)

That's okay. Wikipedia has a lot of guidelines. Trust me, when I first started editing I made whole bunch of edits which were against some Wikipedia policy. I hope this doesn't discourage you. Regardless, your ability to properly cite sources was very good and better than many other experienced editors. Happy editing! ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 04:43, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Userbox

Go right on ahead. A couple of other Phis have already used it. Nice to see other Phis on this site! ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 05:14, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Iowastate dm kicker.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Iowastate dm kicker.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:11, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Iowa State D- 2002-version.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Iowa State D- 2002-version.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
