Ghulam Ahmad Pervez has always been misinterpreted and his ideas have always been misreported by the clergy. The essence of his ideas about Hadith is that obedience of Allah & the Holy Prophet is one and the same obedience while generally it is considered the obedience of two different authorities so the two different sources of law were considered necessary one is Quran & the other Hadith. The opinion of Pervez about Hadith is that if the reported hadiths were must for the Islamic society the Holy Prophet or his four Caliphs would definitely collected compiled and left them for the coming generations like Quran, but non of them did so, and all the hadiths, were collected by non-Arabic Scholars after hundreds of years of the departure of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) with no written proof. So the only doutless & authentic source of law is the Holy Quran and all other sources are subsequent to this major source and if anything a hadith is found against the very clear and undisputed teachings of the Holy Quran those should never be considered as the sayings of the Holy Prophet or his followers and as believers it is a part of our faith that no word or act of the Holy Prophet or his true followers can ever contradict with the teachings of the Holy Quran. The factual position is that, every Prophet including Muhammad (Peace be upon him) firstly himself obeyed the orders of Allah and then invited the other people to do so. For the implementation of the orders of Allah and establishing the just & most favorable system for the entire humanity, the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) established Islamic state with no difference between political and religious leadership. He (Peace be upon him) was at a time a relious & political leader, that is why Islam is not a Mazhab (a typical religion) but a complete system of life called "Deen" which ensures the success & welfare of mankind in this world as well as after death ( fi dunya hasana and fil akhirat hasana). Islam has therfore no place for a specific religious class like other religions, Allah is the friend (Wali) of all believers (Momineen) and every believer should be totally religious himself along with his other social responsibilities of daily routine. The Holy Quran has strongly denied the presence & role of an exclusive religious class for the reason that such classes of "Ahbar" and "Ruhban" not only eats up the wealth of people by unfair and unlawful means but they also bar the people to come towards the true teachings of Allah.
(Holy Quran Sura Toba Verse No.33). With these few facts the reason for such forceful opposition from the religious class to the thoughts of Pervez is obvious, how the religious calss of so called Ulema can tolerate the revolutionary ideas of Quran from Pervez, Sir Syed, Iqbal or anybody else? The only answer to their unchallengeable arguments has always been a fatwa of “Kufar”Pervez has very rightly titled his book “Islam a challenge to religion” |
