Ghufran Ma'ab

Ayatollah Syed Dildar Ali Naseerabadi (مولانا سيد دلدار على نصيرابادى) - also known as Ghufran Ma'ab (غفران ماب) was a Shia scholar of India who originated from a family of scholars from the village of Nasirabad, 3km from their native village of Jais, in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The title "Ghufran Ma'ab" was bestowed on him by scholars in Najaf, Iraq and means "the one who lives in heaven" due to his scholarly attributes.

There is an Imambara (holy building) in his name (Imambara Ghufran Ma'ab) in the city of Lucknow, India. His descendants include 'Ayatullah Syed Ali Naqi Naqvi', Maulana Syed Ali Mohammad Naqvi, Allama Syed Naseer-ul-Hussain Ijtehadi, Allama Syed Sibte Hasan, Mujtahid Aqa Hasan Sahab, Maulana Syed Kalbe Hussain, Maulana Syed Kalbe Abid, Dr Kalbe Sadiq Sahab and Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad who resides in Jauhari Mohalla, Lucknow. One branch of his descendants migrated to Pakistan. Allamah Syed Razi Mujtahid, Maulana Muhammad Mohsin Naqvi, Maulana Hasan Zafar Naqvi are the most famous figures who lived in Pakistan. Allamah Syed Ahmed, known as Allama Hindi was a famous and outstanding scholar of his time (Died in 1947 in India) His great grandson, Dr. Mohsin Naqvi is a scholar of international repute, and now the member of counsel of Islamic Ideology of Pakistan. He is Author of several remarkable books, and member of national curriculum Board of Pakistan.
