[edit] Illegal?
Are these stunts illegal? Has he never been caught? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.17.142.146 (talk) 14:12, 12 October 2007 (UTC) illegal yes, & he nearly gets caught on one of the films —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.87.87.94 (talk) 03:05, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Article's nomination for deletion due to "notability"...
...is absurd. The guy's sold tens of thousands of DVDs, he's been featured all over television (mostly in Europe), his forum had over 30,000 registered users before his Web site went down, and there are also other Wikipedia articles in different languages about him. I think that counts as notable. Yes, the article is lacking sources at the moment, however if you had bothered to peak in the article's history or read the discussion you'd notice that I've just rewritten this entire thing about THREE days ago so just give me a freaking chance. I've been getting all my sources together but it takes time. Just because you've never heard of him doesn't mean he isn't notable. And next time, why don't you come join us in the discussion and voice your concerns instead of swooping in like a ninja, tag the article and then run off? 162.84.165.244 01:18, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Feel free to prove Ghost Riders notability. Amount of DVDs he has sold, number of members in his forums and amount of Wikipedia articles do not count into notability. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:Notability Isvaffel 08:27, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- I know, but the amount of television shows and magazines he's been featured on do count like I said in my notes below. It's taking me time to gather these particular sources because I can't work on this article 24 hours a day. It's just been redone so give me a few days. 162.84.165.244 14:13, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
This is a list of clips from television shows I had saved to my computer pertaining to Ghost Rider (in various languages):

Here's the music video from the song by the famous band Europe that uses Ghost Rider clips in their video:

One magazine article about Ghost Rider:
http://www.turbobusa.net/v4/ghostrider/interviews/images/slitz1.jpg (page 1)
http://www.turbobusa.net/v4/ghostrider/interviews/images/slitz2.jpg (page 2)
http://www.turbobusa.net/v4/ghostrider/interviews/images/slitz3.jpg (page 3)
There exists more than this. I didn't bother to download every Ghost Rider video clip I watched, and I never saved the magazine stuff. There used to be a forum post on the Web site that gathered all the television clips and magazine articles that have even been come by, but then that forum was deleted and a new one was put in place. Now the Web site has been down for over eight months and is completely inaccessible (even via Archive.org). There's a rumor going around that the police finally got a case against him which is why his new movie was never released even though many people have already payed for it (don't take my word for it though people!!!)
But anyway. This is already better than articles like Goatse.cx which has absolutely no notability other than inside a small clique on the Internet (and has been twice nominated for deletion yet was overwhelmingly voted on to keep), and insignificant local garage bands of which no one has ever heard have been on Wikipedia for years. The article still needs work yes, but I need more time. 162.84.165.244 20:00, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Article Is Here
I've made major changes to the article so that it complies more with Wikipedia's standards. The changes are as follows:
- New opening paragraph. It's straight to the point, more fluently written and gives a good, short summary about Ghost Rider.
- The article is a bit shorter than it was before. I've removed or reworded sentences that start with “some say”, “some believe”, “many believe”, and other primary school nonsense with cleaner and more direct wording. There were a lot of bloat sentences and gibberish that made the article longer and very unpleasant to read. Let's try to stick to the important facts.
- New divided sections. Aren't they great? Now it'll be much easier to organize and add new information. Much more pleasant to read as well. Instead of overloading the intro paragraph, we can include the nitty-gritty in the trivia section. But still, let's not be overzealous. Straight-to-the-point, verifiable and substantial information works best. Not stuff like “Ghost Rider's favorite drink is...”
- Added trailers to Filmography. I'm not sure if they really belong there, but I put them in anyway. If anyone feels they don't belong there and moves them, you won't get any objections from me. I've uploaded all those trailers to Google Video myself, however I couldn't upload the GR3 and GR4 trailers due to the inappropriate content.
If anyone could get a working link to them, that would be great. All links added
- Deleted broken and useless links at the bottom.
ISSUES AND NOTES:
- The last sentence of the intro paragraph is going to need a citation. I know there are plenty of television clips, news reports and articles featuring Ghost Rider floating around the Internet. We need to organize them or at least get the names of those programs and television shows so we can use them as sources.
- I pretty much copied and pasted from the earlier version the quote from the "Hein Gericke promotional section in the July issue of PB Magazine". Could someone perhaps give the pages this article was on so that we can properly cite it? It's sort of bothering me leaving it that way.
- Regarding Ghost Rider's identity. On an earlier version, it said that his identity was revealed via "Motorcycle News". What is Motorcycle News? Is it a magazine? If so, could someone name the issue and date or something? I'm not opposed to stating his identity however we do need a reliable source since Ghost Rider has never publicly stated his identity as far as I know.
- Motorcycle News is an extremely well known UK based weekly Motorcycle news paper and website www.motorcyclenews.com and has a very good reputation for accuracy.
The actual date his name was released was 1st july 2006 during a world wheelie speed record attempt at Elvington test track/airstrip during an interview for the paper. The link below does not give his name but merely states he was going to be there, however the paper released on that week did. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/archive/87883/88391/88392/88408/?&R=EPI-88408 Also another link here confirms the connection as well as stating about his wheelie record. http://sameerkumar.blogspot.com/2006/08/patrik-furstenhoff-ghost-who-wheelies.html
- The article is written in Standard American English. British English may be more appropriate however. Make changes where necessary.
THE NAME OF THIS ARTICLE. I believe Ghost Rider (stunts) should be forwarded to the more appropriate Ghost Rider (stunter) or Ghost Rider (stunt rider) since in my opinion, (stunts) doesn't make any sense and I don't know why this name was chosen over the other, more obvious names. I want to know if anyone else agrees with me.Resolved
Well, that's all. Check it over to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. And lastly, does anyone have a good picture of Ghost Rider that we could use for the article? It would make it look much better. 162.84.165.244 00:55, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Under Notable Feats, Ghostriders race on the Paris Peripherique should be rewritten. The goal of the race was never to "break" Prince Noirs "record", rather a tribute to him as a notable figure in illegal street racing. And even though it's by many considered a record attempt, the races are not directly comparable as Prince Noir races during daylight and traffic, while Ghostrider races during night. In addition, due to Prince Noirs infamy, many "record attempts" on the Peripherique seems likely, so most likely Ghostriders race is not special at all.85.89.9.166 11:39, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're right. I've rewritten that paragraph and addressed the issues you've mentioned. 162.84.165.244 17:32, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
A Suzuki Hayabusa is a GSX-R 1300 not a GSX-R 1000 as the article originally stated. Most of his vidoes show him riding a GSX-R 1000. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.105.2.9 (talk) 06:08, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] To 75.117.221.246
The term "to ghost ride" has an established meaning which is when a person leaves the driver's seat of a car still in motion (an example here). The definition you gave is not common usage, and besides being completely unverifiable, the tone in which it's written is inappropriate for Wikipedia. I therefore have no choice but to remove it. 162.84.165.244 10:13, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ghost Rider's Identity
Can someone cite the article which states Ghost Rider's identity? Thanks. -EGnX
- I have not found it. I made a previous change to the entry stating that it was widely believed that GR is Patrik Fuerstenhoff/Furstenhoff (which is easily verifiable in google), but someone reverted it because I didn't put a source. I am 100% certain that GR is Furstenhoff, but believe the entry should not be as definite as it is now until definite proof such as this article can be located. Andremul 20:43, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Please do not cite other Wikipedia articles as sources (e.g. http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Rider_(Patrik_Furstenhoff))84.208.100.254 09:41, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Actual Interview
The source for the interview is completely invalid, Because it is not the actual interview. Click this link and you will see what I mean. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/showthread.php?t=9558 You can write a piece based on this. He has a wife and two kids. Has been arrested once, has once had six cop cars chasing him at once, Quote "My Worst Nightmare Is That I Should Hurt Someone With My Riding. I Mean That". He talks about his motives, his history, ect This current article (7th Sep 07)seems very uneducated. It needs a professional touch. You have got to know how to use the information.
- Well I had no idea that article actually existed. I was trying to work with what I had. How come I couldn't find a link to it before? Should've posted it to help me out instead of bitching about how much my article sucks. 162.83.166.201 20:27, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] To 162.84.165.244
what other Wikipedia page's have you wrote? I would like to see a completed article by yourself.
- This was my first full contribution to Wikipedia. I was trying to improve upon what was here before, and this is a damn good improvement. If you don't think so then you don't know how to read. It is not PERFECT, but we can all chip in to get the facts so then we can mold it into an appropriate article. 162.83.166.201 20:29, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Still The Worst Article On Wikipedia
Phrase's That Are Just Plain Wrong. 1.Recurring Theme. 2.Ghost Rider Himself. 3.The movies "feature" Ghost Rider. Infact I can go on and on, the whole arctile is crap. Why have a trivia section? What style of writing is this? Why aren't you using any of the film's as sources? I can't beleive you think this article is good. (7th Sep 07)
- This is 162.84.165.244 speaking from a public computer. You know what? If you think it's complete garbage, then revert all my edits and change it back to the way it was before. If you think my grammar sucks, then change it. Were you the one who wrote that last piece-of-trash article? If so, then I can understand why you're angry. But anyway, I don't give a shit about this article anymore. If you want to revert all my edits, then do it. The article is all yours. I'll be back in a few weeks to see what you can do. Have fun. Just don't get it deleted in the process. 198.105.45.120 17:30, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. "Recurring Theme" is not wrong, "Ghost Rider himself" is not wrong, "The movies feature Ghost Rider" is not technically wrong, but I guess that could be written better. What the hell are you talking about? Speak English well? And most of the article's info does come from the movies. I was going to mark an asterisk denoting that, but wasn't sure if that was appropriate. If you think that the older article was better then you're just crazy. Go ahead and fix the article the way you want it. I'm not going to stop you. 162.83.166.201 20:15, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
For the record I did not write the old article and I do not think the old article was better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Theoneintraining (talk • contribs) 21:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Indexghostrider.jpg
Image:Indexghostrider.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
