The Ghost Wilderness is an undeveloped area in south-western Alberta, Canada, well-known as an excellent venue for ice climbing. Situated West of the city of Calgary and bordering Banff National Park, the Ghost Wilderness spans the area north of the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) along the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains up to the Red Deer River.
"The Ghost is considered by many to be the center of the universe for ice climbing, as there are great routes and cold temperatures, yet a very low risk of avalanches." - www.humanbeingcurious.com
