For most of them, I've used Templates. Just go here and copy the templates you wish to use. There are, of course others, but it may take some time to find them. I usually guess when I want to add something new, and most of the time, it's already created (I.e. {{user Firefox}} obviously has something to do with Firefox). If not, you can create them, but you might want to look at the specific template coding (I.e. [[Template:user TEMPLATE NAME]] and see the source). G.He 02:46, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Yup. It's all fine now. I created the Stats page a while ago because I thought it would be good to have a "current status" thing at the time. But then I found out how much work it was to keep it accurate and I don't want to be changing that every time my status changes (which appeared to be quite often...). Temporary pages are wonderful things to work with at the best of times. Well, Wikipedia is not censored for minors. If the copyright and other legal aspects are ok, then it can be used. So that leaves the question on should it be used and I think it is an editorial judgment of the people that use the page. Maybe it should be brought up on Talk:Anal stretching? It seems to make sense for the image to be used in that article. It is no different then Image:VaginalOpening.jpg being used on Vagina. Looking at the WP:IFD page, the argument that is unencyclopedic is a very subjective one. The main problem is what the image was originally intended for. An image from Google Earth can only be used under fair use in the article on Google Earth, or directly in connection with Google Earth. Yes. In fact, the only instance where restrictions would be placed on photos you took is if you were working for a company and your contract said that they owned the copyright for your creative work, or if you took a photograph of the Eiffel Tower at night (French courts have ruled that the lighting patterns of the tower are copyrightable, somehow.) Yes, as far as I understand it, you are right--if you take the photo yourself you can release it under a free license and all is well (I'm trying hard to think of an exception but one is not coming to me). "Fair use" is a minefield here; in two years I've managed to avoid uploading a single fair use image because I don't want to try to justify it. Hope this helps and happy editing! My PotD

Will you join My Picture of the Day? The reason I have it, is so images that aren't Featured quality can still be featured. Anybody can put a picture there. All you have to do is pick a day for your picture, and create a page in "User:GeorgeMoney/Month DayNumber, Year". Then, use the following format: Put {{SUBST:User:GeorgeMoney/potd/template|image=Your image.jpg|width=500px (optional)|description=<an optional description>|size=250px (optional)|user=Your Username}} on the page of the day you are creating (Remember for all of the optional variables that you don't use, totally remove them from the syntax). Then all you have to do is put {{User:GeorgeMoney/potd}} on your userpage, and it will automatically make the picture for the day. If you want to have it show your picture forever, put {{User:GeorgeMoney/potd|May 47, 2009}}. Replace "May 47, 2009" with the day your picture will be on.

Also, can you add your name to My Spamlist? Don't worry, my spam isn't bad and annoying like the Esperanza and Community Justice spam. My spam is just news and events in plain text formatting like this.

I had a feeling that it was something like that, even though Google Translate did a pretty bad job of translating:

"porque tu eres un maraco cabron comemierda hijo de puta"

was translated into:...

"because your you are a maraco cabron comemierda son of puta"

when I used Spanish->English (The sentence was nowhere near French :P) Because of that, I couldn't fully accuse I'm N' Mad-dog at the time beacuse I'm uncertain about the true content (thought I was pretty convinced that it was nothing good from what I could tell at the time). Blocked users

Greetings! As I understand it, blocked users can edit only their own talk pages. I'm not sure if they can edit subpages to their talk pages (don't think so though). As an example, I've range-blocked the "North Carolina vandal" for a week, and he's been able to leave numerous abusive messages on the talk pages of his many sockpuppets, but nowhere else. List of U.S. states and their state flower, tree, and bird

I see you have created a very pretty, well-put together, and well-referenced list at List of U.S. states and their state flower, tree, and bird. The only problem is we already have individual lists for these three things (as well as a host of other state insignia, including official reptile, amphibian, mammal, butterfly, insect, grass, soil, mineral...) and it doesn't make a lot of sense to pick a bunch and combine them in one. The place you need to have a look at is Lists of U.S. state insignia. I'd highly recommend taking a look over those lists - some of them haven't had a lot of work done on them recently and could do with a bit of reformatting or prettying up - and see how many of them you could turn into featured lists. Most look feasible, List of U.S. state neckwear is unlikely to make the grade :p As for the list you've made already, it's generally a bad idea to keep redundant articles and lists (mainting, updating or improving them makes twice the work) so perhaps it should just be turned into a "disambiguation" page linking to the other three? You've obviously developed fantastic list-formatting skills, and your referencing is looking much better than the vast majority editors, so I can see you pumping out featured lists like a sausage factory if you decide to really get in to it! Do you think that improving all the Lists of U.S. state insignia might be your niche? TheGrappler 02:06, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

I must confess: I so did not realize that this already existed in other lists :(..... Well... having said that, a disambig page would be the best choice... This also proves the point that a fair amount of articles may not be found when someone searches, thus resulting in undesired consequences, as in this case.... I only wish that this was discovered earlier in the beginning. :(

Unfortunately the site search for Wikipedia is rubbish. I always try to check before I create a new article that it hasn't been done before, but googling the site first (and also double-checking in the categories) seems to be the best way to do it. The good news is you could easily merge your list into the pre-existing ones and raise their quality. By keeping the lists focused on one topic, it would also be possible to illustrate every single insignia (so long as there is a photo on Wikipedia or Commons somewhere). Like I said, the list you produced was fundamentally of "featurable" quality (possibly with a little bit of work, but not much) and there are plenty of lists on Wikipedia that are of very low quality yet are inherently featurable if they got a little bit of TLC. You seem to have the skills to do that... so if you want to do some "rescue" missions, there's definitely a job there for you with a rather nice reward at the end. Try not to be too dismayed! However, I also routinely check "related changes" to a couple of other pages, such as User:Antandrus/watch, which is a compilation of links only from a lot of big list pages in my subject area (I probably check that one once a day or so). It's actually pretty easy. I go to the page and click on the "related changes" tab, which provides all the recent changes on anything that links to that page (over 1000 items). Then I bookmark that. Now all I have to do is pull down the bookmark, and I get my list of changes.  :-) Antandrus (talk) 03:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Grace notes, accidentals

Hi again! Sorry I missed your question last night; sometimes that happens when I get multiple messages! The short answer is yes. In modern notational practice, if you have any accidental in a bar, it carries through to the end of the bar, whether on a grace note or not. However, in practice, it is essential to put in a "reminder" or "courtesy" accidental on the later note since in this case it would be particularly easy to forget. Cheers! Accidentals regardless of octave

Greetings again: not a dumb question at all. It's one of the most often asked questions about notation and accidentals. By convention, when a note is given an accidental, it applies only to that same pitch level, e.g. if middle C is sharped, the C an octave above, when sounded in the same bar, and if no accidental is given, is played natural. However, it is common practice to put in "courtesy" naturals in such a case (I always do it when I write out parts for people). Cheers! Antandrus (talk) 23:26, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
