Gheorghe Gruia (born October 2, 1940 in Bucharest) is a former Romanian handball player and world champion in handball. He won the gold medal in the 1964 World Men's Handball Championship, the 1970 World Men's Handball Championship and the European Championship in 1968. In 1972 Summer Olympics he won the bronze medal with the Romanian team. Gruia currently resides in Mexico City, Mexico and works as a coach and an official in this sport.
