Coordinates: 29°32′N 76°58′E / 29.54, 76.97 Gharaunda is a city and a municipal committee in Karnal district in the state of Haryana, India.

Introduction Gharaunda Town is situated at a distance of 106 Km from Delhi; mainly on North West of National Highway No-I. It is situated at a distance of 18 Km from Karnal the district Head Quarter. The Amritsar-Delhi main broad-gauge railway line passes through the town. Nearest airport is at New Delhi. Gharaunda Railway Station is on the Delhi-Ambala line. STD Code: 1748

Topographical & Geological Conditions: The town is located at latitude of 29º 32’ North longitude 76º 59’ East. The topography is generally flat at an average level of 237 M above mean sea level. The municipal area of the town is 4.37 Sq. Km which does not include the existing and proposed area to be developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority under any town and country planning scheme.
