Ghaniaan

Ghaniaan is a village in Mandi Bahauddin District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located at 32°23'60N 73°39'0E with an altitude of 205 metres (675 feet)[1], lying seven kilometres from Phalia in the direction of Ranmal Sharif on one side of the Chenab River near Qadirabad.
Ghaniaan has all basic facilities; hospital, schools, telephones and good roads with transport to the nearest city Phalia. Most of the people are farmers by profession but since a couple of years ago, a lot of people have been employed in European countries, which has raised people's life style. There are two main crops; rice and wheat. Local farmers make lot of money from 'Colonel Basmati' brand rice. The literacy rate is also going up, specially in women.
