Talk:Get-rich-quick scheme

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following entries are incorrect, and biased.

"Multi-level marketing is potentially highly profitable for those who first start the scheme". Incorrect - it is also possible for those who join many years later to receive a good income if they have sufficient talent and work habits, just as in any other business.

"However, it is mathematically implausible that all the participants in a multi-level marketing scheme will all become rich from selling to one another". Incorrect - A legitimate MLM company will have products which are for sale to end consumers. This sentence confuses a legitimate MLM company with an illegal pyramid scheme.

"Usually, the lowest tiers of the scheme end up losing money." Incorrect - It is quite possible for any tier in an MLM company to lose money if they have greater expenditure than income, just as in any business. The ability of an individual to earn or lose money depends on thier own talent, ability and application regardless of the tier they have joined.

Whatever people's views on Network Marketing, these entries are factually incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.156.179.133 (talk) 17:46, 5 October 2006

No offense but it seems the word "maxim" is out of place here... I mean, I know what it means- it just seemed awkwardly placed on a public encyclopedia. --71.194.128.49 07:34, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
