The Gettysburg National Battlefield Tower was a 307 foot observation tower which stood on the battlefield of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It gave tourists views of the battlefield. The tower was built in 1974 among great controversy by Thomas R. Ottenstein.[citation needed] It was imploded on July 3, 2000.
