Getoar Selimi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Getoar Selimi or commonly known as Getoari or Ghetto Gold is a well-known Kosovar Albanian rapper, member of the rap group Tingulli 3nt and head master of Baba Records as well as writer of a large group of Albanian rap songs. His hits include "Prishtina Fuckin' City", "Kishe une bukuroshe", "Llokum me arra", "Vesa", "Dridhe bothen" etc. Most of his songs are a duo with Agon Sylejmani, the other member of Tingulli 3nt, while among his most successful launches has been "Dridhe bothen" featuring the Albanian exotic signer/dancer Çiljeta Xhilaga. Nonetheless, despite a great popularity among the ethnic Albanian youth, Getoar has often been criticised for banality, inappropriate vocabulary and offence to the values of the Albanian music and culture.

In 2006 Getoari released another successful song "Të 2" featuring Elvana Gjata, an attractive finalist of the Albanian Idol series.
